Know if the person you are calling is free to take a call before you dial.

Everytime you dial someone who is busy on another call, you get to hear the inevitable voice of the network operator recorded message - "the person you are dialing is busy on another call. please try after sometime". You dial after a few minutes expecting this time the person might be free but you hear the same voice again. And you just wished if there was a way you'd know the person you want to call is free to take a call before you actually dialed them. OKDIAL is the unique answer to this problem. It saves you that 5 to 10 seconds of your life every time by letting you know whether the person you are dialing is busy or not before you dial them.

The status you get is in the form of Busy/Free/Unavailable(if the person you are dialing is also using the OKDIAL app). Those who don't use the app , you can invite your friends, family and anyone in your contacts list to by just one push of a button.

OKDIAL beta is the first step towards organizing your cellular life by making the most out of phone's current status.

Registration requires verification of your mobile number through SMS.

We have a web portal coming up through which you can do a lot more :-

1. Set the alternate emergency number(through web portal) so that if you are not available or going to switch off your phone, then you don't have to give your alternate number to everyone individually and they will be redirected(with user's consent) to your alternate number.

2. Set preconfigured emergency triggers like if your phone status is not updated for more than a 6 hours, the OKDIAL system sends a SMS to your important speed dial contacts or might send a tweet from your account or post a status update on facebook. 6 hours can be changed to a preconfigured number of your choice.

We'd be excited to hear your feedback and ideas for improvements. We will be releasing the API for developers in the later versions. OKDIAL presently supports Android and iPhone.

Please read below the details of permissions required.

1) INTERNET - to update the status of the callee in real-time

2) SEND_SMS - to invite friends to this ecosystem

3) READ_SMS - to verify your number(i.e. you have registered the same mobile number which is present in this phone)

4) WRITE_SMS - to delete the verification SMS after it has been successfully completed

5) READ_CONTACTS - to sync the phone number with our system so that you can know who is already a member of OkDial and who is not

6) ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - to check if you are connected to mobile network or not

7) CALL_PHONE - to directly call the desired number(same as traditional phone dialer without going through it)

8) RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - to start the app when your phone starts so that your latest status is updated on the server for other to get

9) READ_PHONE_STATE - to know if your phone is busy/free/unavailable

10) RECEIVE_SMS - to check if you have received the verification SMS or not
