4u2Map makes it easy to use printed maps for orientation, navigation and finding fun places.

Use paper maps, maps posted outdoors or maps downloaded from the internet. These specialty maps often give more interesting information than your standard digital maps when you are hiking, biking or just visiting a town as a resident or tourist.

4u2Map lets you consult your paper map without having to unfold it and it shows you where you are and which way you are headed.

Examples of the kind of maps you may want to use:

• Town maps

• Tourist maps

• Walking and biking routes

• Hiking trails

• Historical maps showing things that are not necessarily there anymore

• Archeological maps

• A page from the internet with a route description and sketch

You can capture, calibrate and archive your maps all from your phone.

Features:

• Deep zoom lets you see all map details easily

• Map orientation to the North or to your heading

• Compass shown on map

• Mark known positions, points of interest etc. to remember where you have been and calibrate the map at the same time

• Go to current position or a marked position on the map

• Use the camera of your phone to capture a map

• Maintain a collection of calibrated maps on your phone

• Sync maps and calibration information to and from SkyDrive

• Marked positions are captured in a standard gpx (GPS Exchange Format) file

• Optionally choose from different calibration models for each map

Trial Mode

You can use all features in trial mode, with these restrictions:

• Advertisements are shown below the map

• Synchronization with SkyDrive is disabled

Comments and Suggestions

You can send your comments and suggestions from within the app straight to the author, who will give you a personal response and use your input to improve future versions.
