A 5 mile circular walk from England's only Cape, via the engine houses of Kenidjack Valley and the iconic pair perched on rock ledges at Botallack Head, to Levant Mine which had over 60 miles of tunnels beneath the Atlantic and now has a working restored beam engine.
The walk starts at Cape Cornwall and follows the coast to the Kenidjack Valley. After crossing the valley to the cliff castle, the path climbs the headland and passes through the remains of the mine workings and iconic engine houses on Botallack head before reaching the Levant Mine. Here the route turns inland to Higher Bal and then follows footpaths to reach the Queens Arms in Botallack. From here, the walk follows footpaths past Wheal Owles to return to Cape Cornwall.
Highlights:
- Heinz monument and St Helen's Oratory on Cape Cornwall
- Engine houses perched on Botallack Head
- Interpretation Centre at Botallack Count House
- Working beam engine at Levant Mine
