SpiltMilk is designed to calculate 24 hour milk loss (in kilograms and pounds) due to clinical or subclinical mastitis in dairy cows. Somatic cell counts (SCC) are used to measure severity of mastitis. Milk loss begins for an animal when SCC exceeds 100,000 cells/ml. Milk loss can be calculated for a single cow or using herd descriptors, at the herd level.
