Three home screen widgets in one package.

Checkpoint Countdown: Displays the time remaining until the end of the current checkpoint period (5 hours).

Septicycle Countdown: Displays the time remaining until the end of the current septicycle (175 hours).

Graphical Countdown: Displays the time remaining in the current checkpoint/septicycle. Displays a large red countdown at ten seconds remaining. The markers on the right-hand side dim as the various cycles and checkpoints elapse. (This is the one I imagine most people will use.) Tap the graphical widget to make it switch to displaying the time remaining until the end of the current septicycle.

Users of the Google Now Launcher will apparently need to reboot their phone (or possibly just restart the launcher) after installing before the widgets will show up in the inventory of widgets. I assume they will fix this issue eventually, but it appears to be their bug, not mine. (Sorry, folks. It works normally with all the other launchers I've used.)

There's another app called "Overlays - Float Everywhere" here in the Play Store that will pretty readily let you have the widget on the screen at all times (even with the game client running). There won't be any overlay code added to the widget, because with that other app it's just not necessary.

All widgets are 2x1 and should display gracefully for any device where the grid hasn't been set to something that's already uncomfortably small. Deploy these to your home screens as you would with any other homescreen widget. It should display correctly on all Android (2.3+) devices supported by Ingress.

There is now a configuration app for the graphical widget (it does not affect the two rectangular widgets), which also doubles as a reference sheet for upcoming checkpoint/cycle/septicycle endings. This makes the package useful for people who "aren't into" widgets. Each widget uses one RTC alarm timer which should never trigger when the phone isn't active, and let's face it... there's not a lot of computation involved in counting seconds. This should not impact your battery life noticeably more than any other clock widget does. If you really want to be picky about battery consumption, set the Time Mode to "Practical" which only has timer events occur twice per minute.

There is a G+ Community for beta testers interested in seeing new features and bugfixes early which anyone can join by going to the website URL shown below. I do not break existing features in beta versions (well... unless I typo something).

The author of the widgets is *not* associated with Niantic Labs (the publishers of Ingress) in any way. I am just another OCD hacker on the Internet. There are no ads, and there are unlikely to ever be any ads (in part because there's absolutely nowhere to put them). This application requires no special permissions, and is utterly uninterested in anything beyond what time it is. For your own safety it is recommended you do not attempt to use these widgets from inside an active volcano, or in any location where time is no longer contiguous. Seriously, don't complain to me if your phone crashes because time ran backwards or sideways or something.
