SOS App is one of the special apps developed by eTele Apps. Using the SOS App one can send a distress signal to his/her friends in case of emergency or danger, by pressing the SOS button in the app.

Following are the features of the app:

~~ Uses GPS and AGPS to get current coordinates of user

~~ Uses Geocoding that is gets address of location using current GPS coordinates

~~ Can send three SMSes to three different user preset mobile numbers

~~ Can call a user defined preset emergency number

Requirements:

~~ Requires Network / GPRS to get current location of user.

Using SOS Settings, user can store three mobile numbers to which SOS SMS needs to be sent. An emergency number can be added to call during distress. A pre-compiled / pre-composed message will be delivered to the 3 pre-stored numbers.

Use cases:

-- Handy application for people returning late in the night

-- Can be used by old people to alert their family in case of emergency

-- Can be used by people stuck in disaster struck zones (assuming phone battery and network availability)

Use this app with caution since the SMSes and emergency call will be made and SMSes cannot be stopped.

Issues:

- Some users reported that app crashes on HTC Wildfire. This will be fixed soon.
