All POI data are being synchronized to the application’s server so you have fast feedback.
Ability to share your drives via social networks.
Features in more details?
Dashboard camera is capability of recording a trip in the format of video file bound with relevant data (speed, acceleration, geo-coordinates, date, time). It's being activated by pressing 'Record' menu button. Video clip is saved locally on your device so you can play or share the video using available social networks.
Application supports two main views: camera and map view.
In the camera view you can add new points of interest (POIs) like police patrols, traffic cameras, road constructions, etc. POIs could be added either by using menu option 'Report' or shortcuts in camera view: long press or double tap applied directly on the screen.
In the map view you can see your current position together with positions of the all POIs which satisfy filter criteria defined in the application preferences.
Application users are notified of the nearby POIs if location service (GPS) is activated on their devices so their position could be determined precisely. In the urban area or hilly terrains they might be problems of fetching device position as limitation of the location service in general.
Recorded video files are available by selecting 'Open' menu option. They could be played, deleted or shared via social networks. For playing these videos we suggest using VLC, MX Player or any other player which supports default subtitle embedding.
Beside automatic data synchronization with servers, user could trigger it manually by choosing "Sync Data" option from the menu.
What's behind RoadSonar?
The basic idea is connecting numerous mobile applications into the unique drivers’ space. Our services provide direct communication among drivers, where each driver is an interactive member of the users’ community.
Drivers can share the most important information with each other and get the positions of police patrols, cameras, road construction points, etc. in real time.
RoadSonar could be used as dashboard camera too. Recorded drives could be easily shared with friends directly from RoadSonar application via social networks available on device.
NOTE: Long press or double tap on the camera view/recording screen enables to you pop-up menu or shortcut action for saving POI. For playing recorded videos we suggest VLC or MX Player but you can use any other player which supports default subtitle embedding. GPS has to be enabled to save your travel data.
IMPORTANT: All videos are only saved locally at your device and no trip data is being neither passed nor saved to our servers. Our servers receives only information of the saved and shared POIs (points of interest, like police patrol, speed-trap cameras, road constructions, traffic jams, etc.)
This application generally supports Android 4.0.3 - 5.0+ devices, but it could make problems for devices with modest hardware resources. Android 4.2 could be kind of buggy depending upon device. Some minimum hardware requirement would be 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM.
PLEASE, TAKE A NOTE: If for any reason you want to rate RoadSonar with some low mark, do it with comment and give us opportunity to improve our product following your feedback. Before rating application, please update it - application is still in Beta phase and it's being developed and improved rapidly. Make sure that your device satisfies the minimum hardware requirements.
