We love watching movies, but finding a good movie to watch is pretty much the worst. If you’re tired of scrolling through thousands of movies and finding nothing to watch, then keep on reading… or stop reading right now and download the app.

Quipped is a social movie tracker. If that sounds like mumbo jumbo, it is, we literally just made it up, but let’s run with it. When you add a movie to your tracker, we put it on the movie board where it is available: coming soon, in theaters, rental or Netflix streaming. We check the status daily, so your movie boards should always be updated with movies that are available to watch. On each movie board, you have a beautiful feed of movies you want to see. Follow your friends to see which movies they also want to see.

So how do you know if a movie is worth watching? Well, we’re tired of all these “professional” movie critics, so we created our own rating system. We want our own movie critics, people just like us, who like movies because they’re funny, interesting or sad, not because they are “emotionally resonant” or “packed with visual splendor” because let’s be honest, nobody talks like that. This is why we quip about movies. Anybody can do it, just choose a rating of Great, Good, Okay, Bad or Awful and then add some commentary if you want to. For each movie, you can see what percent of all users thought the movie was “good” or “great” as well as all the quips from your friends who saw the movie. Only your friends can see your quips, so no need to check your grammar, unless your friends are grammar sticklers, then we advise you to get some new friends.

We love our movie critics. Well maybe “love” is a little strong, but we definitely really like them, so we want to reward them for quipping with us. Sign up for the critics program and once your reach 25 followers you become eligible for free movie tickets and other movie rewards! All we ask in return is that you keep on quipping with us.

One last thing - you know how movies show up for rent and you’re all excited to watch, then you check the price and they cost $15.99 to rent? Well yeah, we’re not into paying that much to rent a movie, so we only put movies on the rental board when they are available to rent for less than $8.
