Everyone remembers the terrorist atrocities of September 11, 2001 in his or her own way. These photos document how an intern from Switzerland experienced the attacks on the WTC in New York City. He was on his way to work when he saw that one of the WTC towers was in flames. He had no camera with him so he went into a photo shop and bought a disposable camera loaded with film. He photographed the Twin Towers from different angles and when they collapsed, fled through Battery Park to the southern tip of Manhattan, from where he continued by boat to New Jersey. These pictures were taken on film and thus have had to be digitalized using a scanner. The black frame is a result of scanning and shows the full photograph as taken. No changes to the originals have been made with picture editing software and so scratches and damage can be seen on some photos. This should in no way diminish the value of this unique graphical documentation
