Ajax and Achilles played Petteia during the Trojan War and were so absorbed in the game - goddess Athena had to warn them of a Trojan attack. Pieces move orthogonally as rooks in chess and cannot skip over other pieces. Piece (one or more) is captured and removed from the board when it is surrounded on two orthogonal sides. Piece in the corner can be captured by two opponent's pieces placed across the corner. A piece can be played inside two enemy pieces without being captured. Wins the player who captures all enemy pieces, or stalemates them.
