This app uses Uber's API to find price quotes for places near you, and plots out a grid of markers with the associated UberX surge multipliers. Use this app to see if there's somewhere a few blocks away from you that might have half the cost to get home. Simple GUI, but it works well enough!
**Requires user to have the Uber app installed in order to hail a ride from a given location**
This was inspired by the iOS-only app SurgeProtector, though my app is still very much being refined. Crashes and downtime may happen, hence the "Free" price point. I just wanted to make this available now, as it has reached the "Minimal Viable Product" stage where I think this app can help save people some money as Surge Protector did.
Uber's API limits the number of fare quotes on an hourly basis, so in the event demand "surges" for this app, I will explore possible ways to reduce the waiting/downtime due to such limits.
