On scanning an encrypted NFC tag, the app decrypts the ciphertext and launches a web browser to the website given by the tag. The tag is tamper-proof in that it cannot be cloned, hacked or modified in any way. The contents cannot be changed or a similar tag reproduced by any unauthorized third parties.
The idea is that responsible organizations and reputable companies can place NFC tags in public places to provide information without fear of their image or brand being tarnished by malicious tampering or cloning. Similarly it is impossible for users to be redirected to fake or fraudulent websites.
