By actively affirming and supporting LGBTIQ young people, headspace centres can contribute to reducing stigma and discrimination in local communities. Taking action to better include LGBTIQ people at a centre level can also help break down some of the barriers that may prevent some young people from seeking help early. This audit tool pools together existing documentation - we recognise the expertise and knowledge that GHLV, OII - Intersex Australia, ACON and Genderqueer Australia have working specifically with LGBTIQ communities and responding to their needs, and the extensive research and consultation they've conducted with LGBTIQ people.
