Gangel is an 'Anti-collision Assistance Companion' tool (of the family of assistance systems / Situational Awareness Aid) offered to all air operators of airplanes or helicopters, professional or private, that is autonomous and completely independent of other on board systems.
Its purpose throughout the flight, except during the take-off and landing phases in the initial versions, is to alert in good time (caution) the crew in an unmissable way of any proximity of the ground or fixed obstacles to enable it to undertake avoidance maneuvers.
Besides this and as a last resort, Gangel generates a clearance alarm (warning) requiring immediate action by the crew.
