Set between the small Scottish villages of Crinan and Ardrishaig, Argyll Scotland. The Crinan Canal is a 14 km long canal that connects Loch Gilp with the Sound of Jura shortening the journey between the Clyde and the Inner Hebrides drastically. Before the Crinan Canal was built, boats would have to go round the Kintyre Peninsula.
Started by John Rennie it was completed by Thomas Telford in 1816.
