FootPath uses your iPhone’s GPS to track and record your walks, runs or any other form of foot-based travel (or non foot-based if you like). Whilst you’re out on a walk or run, you can see your speed, distance traveled, current location and the route you’ve taken along with split indicators for each mile or km covered, all on a fully interactive map. When you’re finished, save the session to see past route information including distance and split times along with a total of how far you’ve walked each week.
FootPath was primarily created as a route and distance tracking app, so although this version doesn’t show calories burned, it will answer questions along the lines of:
“How far is it into town from here?”
“Which way is shorter or quicker?”
“How far did we run yesterday, this week, last week?”
“Are my run times getting quicker?”
Features in version 1.0:

- Make a call, send a text, take a photo or do anything else that requires you to exit the app, and your location information is still recorded.
Please note that FootPath uses your device's in-built GPS whilst it is tracking your movement, even when the application is running in the background. Continued use of GPS whilst running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
