There is a rule called the "Sunny f/16 - Rule". It says:
"On a sunny day set aperture to f/16 and shutter speed to the reciprocal of the ISO film speed (or ISO setting) for a subject in direct sunlight."
This App helps you finding the right exposure settings for your camera. Select ISO and lighting conditions to calculate the Aperture and Shutter Speed.
