The Basics application was developed by Visual Equestrian and is specifically designed for the iPhone and iPad. The following five video and audio tracks demonstrate basic riding skills for every riding discipline:

- Direct and Opening Rein

- Indirect Rein

- Pulley and Neck Rein

- 20 Meter Circle

- Turn on the Forehand

These instructional exercises and movements are performed by Tonya Grant. Tonya is a member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) and has earned her Gold and Silver medals. The viewer will see the horse improve throughout each exercise. These lessons emphasize the important aspects of the exercise and how the exercise itself helps the horse and rider.
