Founded and managed by Deon St. James in Fall of 2012, ABSTRACT ACADEMY is the team primarily responsible for the longevity, quality, and purposefulness of the weekly open mic and performing artists showcase: SUNDAY SOUND SENSATIONS.

We are a network of professionals, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and business owners that donate assistance and support to the entertainment endeavors of each member and their events, with SUNDAY SOUND SENSATIONS as the core event/production of The Team.

OUR MISSION is to produce a weekly event (SUNDAY SOUND SENSATIONS) that provides a safe, supportive, community-like environment where "artist-development" and exposure is the driving force!

OUR GOAL is to help each performer achieve their desired ambitions as a performing artist via the time, talent, tithes, and connections each member donates to SUNDAY SOUND SENSATIONS. We will revolutionize the "open mic" and "artist showcase" scene in the city of Charlotte, NC by putting the ARTISTS FIRST. We will produce media-worthy events and concerts that benefit both the artist and The Team. Team ABSTRACT ACADEMY and SUNDAY SOUND SENSATIONS are the driving force that will bring worldwide attention to the talent of the Carolinas.
