Testing Prototype of Visually Impaired Assistance
An Augmented Reality Browser for Visually Impaired Persons. A prototype developed for the demonstration in Master of Computer Science Viva at UCSC.
Visually Impaired Assistance (VIA) is a proof-of-concept that is designed to assist visually impaired persons by using smart devices. Using By using gesture recognition and the voice recognition, VIA decodes the instructions as inputs to the system. The processing components are allowed to the users to get the location awareness, information of service locations around the user and guide the user to the selected location. Application would generate two types of outputs by using the audio and haptic feed backs without depending only on user’s hearing ability.
