Have access to a scientific and graphing calculator wherever you take your phone at no extra cost or equipment. This simple and easy to use calculator is designed for use in engineering. TLCalc features:

Tips for pro users:

■ Hold down a button to insert the ‘shift’ text instead of normal text

■ Hold down the backspace button to clear the input in one go

■ Complex numbers can be entered in polar form using ‘@’. E.g 2@90 = 2i when in degrees mode. The app respects the angle mode you are currently in

Disclaimer: this app is a hobby project that I have developed for my own personal use. As such, the app has had limited testing. Currently, the only tested devices are the Moto G, HTC One Max and HTC Desire. Please contact me if you find bugs or would like to leave any feedback or suggestions.

Full feature list:

■ Type in advance expressions easily using either the in-app button pad or by connecting a keyboard. Button pad is nice and large to reduce chances of mistakes and can easily be customised to suit your preferences

■ Evaluate expressions at the end allowing you to easily input complicated expressions with many levels of nesting with ease

■ Omit closing brackets and multiplication signs, which on top of bracket highlighting and calculation preview, help to speed up entry of expressions whilst minimising mistakes

■ Use complex number with full support included for built-in functions such as sin and cos

■ Store and use 24 variables that can each be assigned a complex number (these are A-Z excluding i and e which are built-in constants)

■ Includes a fully featured unit converter allowing conversion between complex units similar to UNITS on Linux

■ View plots of expressions using intuitive touch gestures like dragging and pinching to pan and zoom

■ Create your own functions and use them in expressions. You can even use them in graphing mode

■ Multi-task seamlessly. Calculations, variables and custom functions you use are automatically saved between app sessions

■ Cloud save settings data so if you lose your phone or uninstall the app, the app will be restored to the previous state when you reinstall it
