What does the space program mean to you? Discover your own perspective on the exploration of outer space, and provide advice for leaders charting the course of technological development at this time of rapid change. The Space Opinions survey not only discerns how much you agree or disagree with a hundred ideas about the value of the space program, but also how important you feel each one is. Register your interest and we will send you confidential feedback on how your own views coincide with others. The combined results of the Space Opinions survey will be published online very quickly to help guide leaders of the world's space programs, governments, aerospace industries, and young people studying related areas of science and engineering.

Traditional questionnaires, like the Gallup Poll and the General Social Survey, use a random sample of the public and are well designed to measure the levels of support for space program funding over the years and across segments of the population. But they are not well designed to explore people's conceptions of the many different goals that space exploration achieves, because they simply do not ask the number and variety of questions required. This survey was designed by Dr. William Sims Bainbridge, a prominent social scientist who pioneered this approach in his book, Goals in Space, and in his textbook, Survey Research: A Computer-Assisted Introduction.
