This is an application that will record the gait of a person walking using the accelerometers in the smartphone/device. It displays a graphical representation of the recorded sample steps and calculates some basic gait analysis parameters. It starts sampling on the 3rd step until the 13th step. The user is asked to step with their right foot first. It asks for the user to login/register with the only a username, password, pace length (this can be estimated as the person's trousers inside leg measurement), their age and sex. At this point only the parameters are recorded although it is hoped to use the information produced by the accelerometers to better analyze the person's gait. The information is stored on a database and the information can be deleted on request. Everything stored is anonymous and will not be used for any purpose other than testing the app at this point. The app is non-intrusive and does not do anything else to the phone. The main purpose of the app is to be a prototype for an MSc dissertation a copy of which may be obtained on request.
