In 2009, Second Avenue developed a web based game for Discover magazine, bringing the supernovas discussed in Prof. Adam Frank’s article to life.Newly formed stars rip apart giant clouds of particles from which they form. In the game, the user must control the impact of these explosions through the use of seed stars, which maximize star formation in the cloud before combined supernova blast waves turn the cloud to shreds.
