Spelling fun was created to help children with their spelling homework.There are currently two spelling games to play based on the words entered. The first game is Word Guess. It is sort of like hangman without the violence. The second game is Scramble. They are fun to play and they are based on the words entered by the child or by a parent. There is auto correct to assist in the word spelling.

A spelling practice screen lets you view the words and practice typing them. If you type them correctly, you get a smiley face.

A word study screen lets you look at the words one at a time and press a button for the device to speak the word and definition.

A spelling test screen lets you listen to the words and then spell the words by typing them. Pressing the Next Word button will check your spelling and move on to the next word. Points are gained for each word spelled correctly. Also a score is calculated as you spell the words.

A settings screen allows you to decide if you want player logon and a high score display. Also, the settings screen allows you to determine if you want the words sorted in order, or displayed in random order. This screen also lets you set the grade level for words that will be entered. There are 12 grade levels, each with a maximum of 55 words.

An add words screen lets you type in words and definitions for a selected grade level. This screen is sort of like a spreadsheet. This screen has a scroll bar to avoid a finger swipe over a data input area.

A word import/export screen allows you to export word text files to a folder in your device, or import from the same folder. You could also edit the text files with a notepad editor. Notepad++ is recommended. It is free.

Most all the screens have a help button, which will give you detail about how to navigate the screen.

Five language locales are supported: English, UK, French, Italian, and Spanish. When you change the language in the settings screen, the screen buttons and prompts, plus the help screens are shown in that language. Also, the spoken accent will be in that language.
