Solar Meter helps you calculate financial benefit of setting up solar panels on your roof. GPS, compass, and gyro gadgets on your iPhone will help you collect basic physical data around your proposed installation. You can then configure how many panels you see fitting on your property, and Solar Meter will do the rest. Financial numbers will tell you what sort of income to expect from the system, when it is supposed to break even, and what annual return on your investment would that translate into. First version of the program will be particularly helpful to Ontario residents applying for microFIT subsidy program and connecting their project directly to the grid. Future versions will expand to other subsidy programs around the world.
