ABSTRACT
In this project, proponents attempt to provide assistance to both operators as well as users of public transportation buses. The project provides public buses users with the ability to access online information regarding vacant seats in upcoming buses to the station. In order to achieve the objective, proponent designed a web application that will operate on a smart phone and provide information about the upcoming bus. Proponent used Infrared Proximity sensors to sense the presence of passenger while entering and leaving the bus. This is basically accomplished by incorporating the automated counting system that display the number of seats vacant and occupied in a bus. The sensors are connected to a microcontroller fitted in each bus. The data will be fed into a webserver via Wi-Fi network for accessing it using the web application.
