Once upon a time, there were two pool players. They were playing the game 61 and keeping score on a piece of paper. These two players constantly had to count up their shots to determine if they had won.

Sixty One is an innovative graphical score keeping Windows 7 Phone application. Simply dragging a ball to the appropriate players’ side keeps score. It’s that easy. Some say, easy as pie.

Field tested in homes and pool halls across the city, this application does what the creator wanted: Keep Score for the game.

Another name for the pool game 61 is rotation.

So, here are the basic rules of the game: use the full rack of balls; the 1 ball must be on top; the 2 and 3 balls must be on the other corners, and the 15 ball must be placed in the center. Balls must be shot at in numerical order. This means; you must strike the lowest ball first; but can sink any ball as long as the lowest ball was struck first. A foul is when you do not hit the lowest ball; resulting in a ball in hand for your opponent. The player that pockets 61 or more points wins.

Of course, you don’t have to play by these rules to enjoy the game. Adding up all the balls equals 120. Half would be 60, and plus 1 equals 61. First player to get at least 61 points, is the winner.
