Use Signal Hound to listen out for a mobile signal or internet connectivity, and it will notify you when they are available.

If you regularly traverse low signal areas on foot, by bike, in cars, or by whatever means, then you will be familiar with the frustration of constantly having to look at your phone to see when you can make that call, send that text, or see how many likes the Facebook photograph of your breakfast has received. With Signal Hound you can specify a minimum signal and connectivity level and leave the app to do its job.

If it is internet access you require, then simply tell the app to listen for GPRS, high speed mobile, or WiFi connectivity and it will do the rest so that you can carry on what you were doing.

This app was designed to address a requirement of my own, so it is simple but does exactly what it says on the tin. It is a low effort application so I've not invested very much time in platform testing.

Signal Hound was designed for use on phones, but there is no reason why it shouldn't work on tablets.
