"R Console Premium" app is an Android version of the open source statistical tool R. This is the same app as "R Console Free" app but plots are enabled in this version and a simple editor is available too.

This is not a fully version of R (version 3.1.2). Some features such as completion may not work. However most of the R functions should work.

Three compilers have been embedded within the app :

- a C compiler (gcc)

- a C++ compiler (g++)

- a fortran compiler (gfortran)

With these three compilers, you can build and install most of the CRAN R packages from source with the following command :

> install.packages("CRAN package of your choice")

Warning : you will need an active internet connection to build and install CRAN packages.

The default installed packages are :

"KernSmooth" : Functions for kernel smoothing for Wand & Jones (1995)

"MASS" : Support Functions and Datasets for Venables and Ripley's MASS

"Matrix" : Sparse and Dense Matrix Classes and Methods

"base" : The R Base Package

"boot" : Bootstrap Functions (originally by Angelo Canty for S)

"class" : Functions for Classification

"cluster" : Cluster Analysis Extended Rousseeuw et al.

"codetools" : Code Analysis Tools for R

"compiler" : The R Compiler Package

"datasets" : The R Datasets Package

"foreign" : Read Data Stored by Minitab, S, SAS, SPSS, Stata, Systat, Weka, dBase, ...

"grDevices" : The R Graphics Devices and Support for Colours and Fonts

"graphics" : The R Graphics Package

"grid" : The Grid Graphics Package

"lattice" : Lattice Graphics

"methods" : Formal Methods and Classes

"mgcv" : Mixed GAM Computation Vehicle with GCV/AIC/REML smoothness estimation

"nlme" : Linear and Nonlinear Mixed Effects Models

"nnet" : Feed-forward Neural Networks and Multinomial Log-Linear Models

"parallel" : Support for Parallel computation in R

"rpart" : Recursive Partitioning and Regression Trees

"spatial" : Functions for Kriging and Point Pattern Analysis

"splines" : Regression Spline Functions and Classes

"stats" : The R Stats Package

"stats4" : Statistical Functions using S4 Classes

"survival" : Survival Analysis

"tcltk" : Tcl/Tk Interface

"tools" : Tools for Package Development

"utils" : The R Utils Package

Once the application is downloaded and installed from the Play Store, the app will copy about 300 Mbytes of data in the app directory on the first run or on update.

This app is working on both Arm and Intel based Android devices.

The default working directory is the public "Download" folder ("/sdcard/Download").
