The Plant Doctor game has been developed with the ideal that not only is learning fun, but games are a great medium for education - a nascent realisation of our time which the Serious Games Innovation Lab intends to prove.

Within the constraints of the Queensland University of Technology's capstone game project, the team spent a semester researching plant bio-security and the educational outcomes necessary for teaching the diagnostic process through a game.

Plant Doctor is a proof of concept of what can be achieved through the medium of serious games. In this version, the player takes on the role of a plant doctor in Thailand, improving their knowledge of plants and key aspects of the diagnostic process - identification and critical thinking.

Through the platform of the tablet, Plant Doctor lets the player take learning into their own hands and in locales that lack the infrastructure of a traditional classroom or laboratory and even as an aide on the field.
