Open Prayer Book collects together prayers and liturgies from across the web and allows you to view them full screen on your Android device (as well as schedule daily reminders).

It has several key advantages over simply using the web browser in your phone:

★ It contains a curated collection of prayers and liturgies for easy access.

★ You can schedule reminders.

★ You view the prayers on full screen.

★ If you find or create a prayer resource you can share it with other users of Open Prayer Book.

How to use Open Prayer Book

The first thing you'll want to do is add some prayers/liturgies. You can do this by going to the "Prayer Book" tab and hitting the menu button. Either select "Add Liturgies from list" to choose from curated collection of liturgies or select "Add custom liturgy" to add your own liturgy.

Once you've added some liturgies, just tap on it to open it in the full screen viewer.

Advanced features

By holding down on a liturgy to bring up the context menu you can schedule a reminder (which will use the Android notification system to remind you about the liturgy/prayer).

In addition you can edit it, submit it for possible inclusion in the next update of Open Prayer Book or delete it.

Many liturgies/prayers work best in landscape mode (or perhaps on a tablet) so you might want to rotate your phone at this point.
