The mosaic of Jackson Square in New Orleans is composed of several hundred photos taken in the French Quarter of New Orleans in 2006. It was created using the program AndreaMosaic (http://www.andreaplanet.com/andreamosaic/), where each photo was used a variable number of times in various orientations to achieve the color combinations needed to construct the mosaic. The resulting mosaic was then processed with Microsoft DeepZoom to produce the multi-scale image used in this app.

To use the app, simply use the usual finger gestures to increase or decrease the size of the mosaic. You may also use the + and - buttons to do this. If the mosaic should disappear from the screen in the process, simply tap the Reset button. Once you have increased the size of the mosaic sufficiently to clearly see the individual images, a double-tap on a particular image will produce that image in the photo panel along with a description of the image. In the map panel, a red pushpin will mark the location of the image.

The photo and map may also be manipulated with the usual finger gestures. For the map, you may additionally use the + and - buttons to change the map zoom. And a tap on the map's Mode button switches the map mode between aerial and road.

Version 1.2 simply replaces a temporary Bing map key with a permanent map key.
