National Geographic Photos of the Day app which cycles through the last 24 National Geographic Photos of the Day.

Android 2.1+ pictures can be shown as a Live Wallpaper.

Android 4.2+ pictures can also be shown as a Daydream screensaver when your Android phone or tablet is docked.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Installing this will not give you an application icon. Both of these features are enabled in the Android settings ( Settings, Display, Live Wallpaper and Settings, Display, DayDream )

As new photos are posted daily, so they will show up in the picture cycle (it downloads the images automatically). Photos change hourly by default but can be changed to cycle at custom intervals.

By default this app will only work on Wifi connections due to the amount of network data it may consume. If you wish to run it on 3G, there is a setting to enable in the daydream settings page to enable this to work over mobile data connections. The application will intelligently cache images for offline use, so if you connect to Wifi and then go onto mobile networks, cached images will be used, they will update the next time you connect to Wifi.

The free version will cycle through the last 24 Photo Of The Day pictures.
