If you live with depression you are far from being alone—it has been estimated that there are over 350 million people around the world living with depression today. MoodGym is an ongoing project that aims to use the the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to create a self-help space for depression at your fingertips.

CBT recognizes that your thoughts and feelings are not determined by events, but by your interpretation of events—depression can often be caused by harmful interpretations of events. CBT seeks to help you adjust the core beliefs which can trigger these harmful interpretations.

We can learn to adjust our brains core beliefs by making small shifts in our way of thinking. MoodGym achieves this by providing short, habit building, self-help exercises that can be completed on your phone at any time you chose.

Depression is no respecter of status or fortune and there are famous cases throughout history. From King Solomon to Abraham Lincoln, and from Winston Churchill to Buzz Aldrin. You will never be alone, and we hope this app will provide the self-help tools which guide you back to a happy and fulfilled life.
