In Maharashtrian (India) culture there is a very, very popular custom of uttering the wife's or the husband's name in a couplet. This generally happens during weddings, where all the relatives gather around the bride and the groom and ask each one to come up with such a couplet. These couplets are called "Ukhane" (oo-khaa-nay). Ukhane are generally very, very funny and make an interesting read!
This app provides a quick, easy-to-access, "living" list of such Ukhane on your Windows Phone. The list is constantly updated on our servers to give you more Ukhane everyday. What's interesting is that the Ukhane will be displayed in the language Marathi on your phone, and not in English! The Ukhane are classified into categories for quick-access. The "Ukhana of the day" is displayed on the front page of the app.
We will soon provide the capability for you to add your own Ukhanas to the list, and user transliteration on your phone to "type in Marathi."
