Sinhasan Battishi is a collection of 32 stories each describing how the King Vikramaditya handled different cases related to delivering justice. Each story is also a puzzle and the reader is engaged into it.
These stories are loved by both adults and children alike for they are simple yet with profound meaning.
The story begins with King Bhoj discovering a little kid giving exceptional quality of justice. The king further discovers that the boy is actually sitting on floor where a throne is buried. The throne belongs to King Vikramaditya and is jaded with 32 beautiful statues of Apsaras (Celestial Beauties). Each Apsara then tell a story before disappearing.
