Lough Derg Trails includes over 20 different types of activity trails around Ireland’s Lough Derg, making it the most comprehensive mobile application for leisure trails ever produced in Ireland. The app features a mix of loop walks, long distance way-marked ways, cycling trails, driving routes, heritage trails and water-based trails.
The app is built on the EveryTrail platform and enables users to find trails near their current location. Users can then access maps, descriptions and media content about the trail, and can use GPS mapping to navigate along the route.
Lough Derg, on Ireland’s River Shannon borders the counties of Clare, Tipperary and Galway and is known as Ireland’s Pleasure Lake. It offers 32,000 acres (13,000) hectares of clear, uncluttered waterway, ideal for all kinds of watersports, angling and cruising. The beautiful countryside
surrounding the lake is perfect for walking, cycling, horse riding and other outdoor pursuits. Dotted along the lakeshore are quaint towns, villages and harbours offering great history and heritage, music and entertainment, and a warm welcome.
