Lock Extender is a plugin for Tasker, Locale, Llama and other automation apps that allows you to change the delay that is applied to the lock screen after the display is turned off.

For example, have the lock delay set to 3 hours when you are at home so that the screen lock does not activate whilst you are there.

Combine this plugin with a task for making the screen turn off after a short period and you can even save some battery life and be able to resume your device without having to enter the PIN every time the screen turns off!! Please note that pressing the power button will still lock the device and that you will need to unlock the device once for the lock to be removed.

Please also be aware that you will need to have an exit task to re-apply the time out value.

**** ROOT **** Root/SU Permissions are required only during installation/un-installation of the Helper. If you are concerned about the app having root/su permissions, when prompted, only allow the permissions once so it is not saved. This way you will see that the app doesn't regularly ask for SU permissions (and neither does the Helper).

I'm sorry but you will need to reboot after each Helper install/remove action. I had this working in development without the need for a reboot but for some reason the release one doesn't like it, I will work on this though.

** I have been getting some inconsistencies when installing/removing the Helper. If you are having any problems, update Lock Extender to latest version, open it up, remove the helper and also delete any LockExtenderHelper.apk files from // and /system/app (you will need a root-explorer to delete from /system/app, then reboot. Do an install of the Helper from within Lock Extender and one last reboot. ** You can also use a tool such as Titanium Backup to remove LockExtenderHelper.
