Have you ever tried arranging with some friends to meet up later when you go out, but never ended up the same place?
Or couldn't you find half of your friends because they disappeared to other places and didn't answer their phone?
LetsMeetUp is an application that makes it easy for you and your friends to find each other when you go out. Just set the application to automatic upload and it will automatically upload your position from your pocket, so your friends can find you. Automatic also works when the app is closed and when the device is locked.
Functionality in details:
★ Create different groups for different purposes: Girlfriend, co-workers, football team, school, family, etc.
★ Choose which groups you want to be active on the map.
★ You can choose to let the app upload your location automatically or you can do it manually.
★ When your location is uploaded it can be seen by the friends from your active groups.
★ Leave a group whenever you want.
★ After creating a group you can invite members by email or SMS.
★ The map is automatically updated with your active groups locations when it gets visible.
★ Possible to filter out members from the map who hasn't updated their position within a specified timeout.
★ SMS all members in group so you can coordinate.
★ Possible to specify an Auto-disable time or battery level so your battery isn't drained more than needed.
★ See the current address of the members.
Example of use:
Use the manuel update when you are meeting up at a friends house before you go out. When you then decide to go out, turn on the automatic update, and the app will automatically upload your position to the server from your pocket. This way you will always be able find other friends who are running this app and they can always find you.
Other uses:
➤ Keep track of your children.
➤ Instead of exchanging phone numbers with a girl/boy you just met, then just create a group so you can hook up next time you're both going out.
➤ In general it can be used as a tracking tool for what ever reason you have.
NB:
- Both you and your friends have to install this app before it makes sense.
- Because the GPS functionality is used, the app consumes more battery than normal apps. It approximately drains the battery 25% over 6 hours.
- Android support will be implemented later on.
