Formed in the 2012 edition of the X-Factor UK series was four-Union J originally started as a triple J. After a successful audition, Triple J - made up of members Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley - the group reached battle but were defeated in the House of GMD3 round judges. After further draft groups show were abandoned because of Triple J visa problems brought as a replacement with the addition of another party, George Shelley to the group a quartet. Renamed Union J, the four parts went to the semifinals, where they were eliminated. Signed an agreement with Sony RCA Records subsidiary at the end of 2012, the band released their first single, "Run", six months later. In 2013, the Union J released his self-titled album, the first full length album, with the single "Beautiful Life".
