The Intel Animation Interpolator enables rapid prototyping of Android* animations through a simple graphical user interface. This helps Android designers and developers create compelling, dynamic experiences, by providing immediate visual feedback about how animations will appear in an application. It also assists designers who are keen to utilize cutting edge, animation­rich approaches, such as Google’s Material Design, in their application design.

Background:

Android provides several different animation interpolators such as the Linear Interpolator, Accelerate Interpolator, Overshoot Interpolator and others. Each of these time­bound transitions can be applied to different properties of a user interface component, including its position, opacity, scale and rotation.

Use:

The Intel Animation Interpolator controls the animated interpolation via four user inputs:

­-Attribute to interpolate, e.g. opacity

­ -Duration of the interpolation (in milliseconds)

­ -Interpolation name, e.g. “Linear Interpolator”

­ -Factor (not always present and it’s behaviour depends on the interpolator)

Immediate feedback is provided as the inputs are adjusted, allowing for a huge range of different behaviours to be directly observed.
