Have fun and stay safe on your horse.

Fun: Track your ride, see how far you have gone, how fast, and see your route on the map.

Safety: The app will automatically send a message to your nominated 'ride guardian' if you fall or get into trouble (stop moving). The message will show your exact location on a map.

Also: Your 'ride guardian' can see your location on their phone, while you are out on a hack. Great if you want to let someone know where you are.

"Hoofa Doofa is a safety device currently only available on Android phones. I thought of this when I was on a livery yard where a slightly more elderly rider used to insist on going out hacking alone, on a rather headstrong and wilful pony, who 9 times out of ten would return to the yard alone, sending everyone into a state of panic!

The idea for this first release is for you to be able to be visible on your rides for your own safety and the peace of mind of your guardian which you choose before you set off for your hack. It can be used for fun also as it tracks and maps your ride, showing areas of walk, trot, canter and gallop in different colours, as well as the distance you have travelled. Also tracks your average and your current and maximum speed on your ride, handy for challenging others while out on fun rides or practicing for Eventing or Endurance Riding.

Your ride guardian is someone you choose before you set out to ride that you know would be available should the worst happen. The ride guardian doesn’t necessarily have to have an Android phone, as there is a manual text version available. However on Android they are able to see where you are at any given time.

The alarm is triggered by motion, (or lack of it) if you fell off and were motionless for approximately 30 seconds or more then a alarm will sound to the rider. If this is a false alarm and you simply having a chat with a friend etc. then shake the phone and it will reset, however, if you have fallen and are unable to communicate then the phone will send a text alert to the guardian giving the co-ordinates and map (if 3G phone is used) of where the incident took place.

We have thought of lots of additions to this application, but more importantly wanted to get it out there to gain some feedback and thoughts by the riding public. This is a worldwide product, however only currently tested in the UK."
