You type in each value and tap enter to submit the value.  The Barterlator calculates based on LIFO, "Last In--First Out".   Always enter the value of your offer first.  The Barterlator computes the "Net Trade Value" or the "Labor Value". - Net Trade Value: Type the value of the item or service that you are offering in the trade and tap enter.  Next, type in the value of your item or service that your are receiving in the the trade and tap enter. Tap Trade value button to compute the net trade value.
