With the Green Passport app you can access sustainability tips right in the palm of your hand!This app is part of the Green Passport Campaign, which presents simple ways for travelers to turn their tourism experiences into a more sustainable activity, which respects the environment and local culture, while also promoting the social and economic development of the hosting communities. The Green Passport Campaign is promoted by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), and is an international benchmark.In 2014, UNEP, in partnership with the Brazilian Ministries of Environment, of Sports, and of Tourism, is launching a special edition of the Green Passport campaign. In this new edition, the language and means of communication of the campaign have been updated, providing a communication platform for tourists and the tourism sector, which includes a website, smartphone application and a campaign strategy in the social networks. Green Passport 2014 features 60 travel itineraries with sustainable footprints in the twelve host cities, and offers engaged tourists the opportunity to comment on and share their experiences during the sporting event.Read more: http://www.green-passport.org
