The original title of this words-only hymnal, published in 1887, is "Primitive Baptist Hymn Book: for All Lovers of Sacred Song." It contains 321 hymns that are soundly in accord with the scriptures, as well as beautiful. They are here indexed by hymn number and alphabetically by first line, and are searchable by phrase and keyword.
The author closed his original preface with these words:
To the faithful in Christ Jesus everywhere, those who believe in the doctrine of salvation by grace, as taught by all the holy apostles, and prophets of old, is this little book dedicated, to the end that Zion may be comforted and Christ glorified. Amen.
