Welcome to Goat Island, part of Sydney Harbour National Park. The Island combines a spectacular location in Sydney harbour with a rich history. This App lets you explore Aboriginal attachment to land, the dangerous business of storing bulk gunpowder, the harsh life of convicts in the 1830’s and the striking coincidence of a TV drama about contemporary water police filmed alongside one of the Colony’s first Water Police Stations.There are 21 stops on this self-guided tour. A GPS enabled map lets you navigate between each point of interest and explore the island at your leisure.The island has paved walking tracks for most of the tour, however walking shoes are recommended. We also recommend you bring a hat, sunscreen and water. If you would like to stay for a picnic bring your own food and a blanket and enjoy some of Sydney’s most spectacular views.The app includes a bonus children’s version for ages 8-12 as a separate download.
