Go Fish Tenz is a new take on the well-known card game Go Fish. Instead of pairing numbers that are equal, players match pairs of cards that add up to 10, with a deck of cards displaying numbers from 1 to 9. This is a great game for early or pre primary school aged children to practice partitioning (the ability to think of numbers as made up of two parts, eg 10 is 8 and 2, as well as 4 and 6). Partitioning is one of the strategies for addition laid out in the Australian Curriculum under Number and place value.
