Glidemate is an in-flight application for soaring pilots. It uses the Android device's GPS and pressure sensor to provide position, altitude and vertical velocity information on a moving map display. A 'slippy' map base is pre-cached so that no network connection is required when in flight. An IGC format track log is recorded and can be played back for later viewing and flight analysis. Tasks can be defined as a set of ordered cylinders of varying radius around waypoints. The task is saved into the track log and is displayed during flight replay.
Glidemate can use either the devices internal barometric pressure sensor or an external pressure source via bluetooth to display altitude and vertical speed as an altimeter and variometer page.
