In 1920 Marcel Duchamp commissioned the ready-made Fresh Widow, a green double door French style window with panes of glass covered in black leather.The leather was to be shined every day, according to the artist’s directions.The idea of this almost sexual act of polishing is linked to the title, the term “French window” that Duchamp turns ironically into“Fresh Widow”,for “indecent, lustful widow”.The app art “Frotteuristic Hand” is a sort of pastime with a purely entertaining purpose, inspired by Duchamp’s frottage: it is a series of abstract images that, when caressed by the user, produce sound effects between eros and thanatos.
